  • College Application Week-Tips for Applying to Colleges
  • The following are schools participating in the single MUS application. If you apply to Montana colleges not listed here, you will need to go to that college’s website  to apply.

University of Montana, UM Missoula College, UM Bitterroot College, Montana Tech, Highlands College, UM Western, Helena College, Montana State University Bozeman, Gallatin College, MSU Billings, City College, MSU Northern, Great Falls College, Dawson Community College, Flathead Valley Community College, Miles Community College

    Main Steps to Apply
  • Go to: www.applymt.org
  • Click “Apply Now.”
  • Create an account. Be sure to use a personal email, not your school email.
  • You will be able to save the application and go back to finish if needed.
  • If you can’t change something or are stuck, go back and check your profile section.
  • Once you have finished submitting your application, check under the status to make sure the application is actually submitted to each school you selected.
  • Quick Information:
*Spring school ACT was April 26, 2022.
*You probably entered high school in August 2019.
*Your expected graduation date is May 28, 2023 unless you are graduating early.
*You do not need to include your social security number now, but your college might need it in the future.

    Tips:
  • There is a question that asks you if you have taken any college courses and/or dual enrollment in the MUS system. If you reply “Yes,” you need to include the college(s) you attended. If you reply "No," there might still be a required field with what college and you can list "none."
  • There is a question that asks when students entered high school and their expected graduation date. Students will need to click on the calendar to select dates; they cannot just type it in.
  • Once you select the colleges you wish to include in your application, on the next screen, you will need to click on each college to answer supplemental questions. Some of the colleges (MSUB) also have a section entitled "Documents." Students can scroll to the bottom of that page and check the box that says, "I am not including documents." Some classes might ask you what classes you took your senior year.
